Android / Postern setup
Before you start
Open the proxy list for your product in the IP123 dashboard. Once deployment is complete, copy the host, protocol-specific port, username, and password. Use the proxy credentials, not your IP123 login password. Use the assigned static connection details directly; do not add country, session, or rotation parameters.
Menu labels can change between client versions; use the corresponding settings in your version.
Set up the connection
Install Postern from a trusted app store or the developer’s distribution channel. Check compatibility first: some Android systems or emulators cannot create the local VPN connection it needs.
Open server configuration from the menu and add a proxy server. Choose any display name; use the address, port, type, and credentials for the selected protocol from IP123.
Add a rule for your target domains and select the saved server as its action. If all remaining traffic should use this connection, add a catch-all rule after the specific rules. Put any direct rules for local or management services before it.
Enable the connection and approve the local VPN configuration in Android. The VPN icon only confirms local forwarding is active; check the exit from a browser inside the phone or emulator. Other VPN clients can conflict with this connection.
Save and use
Open https://ip123.in inside the configured browser profile or app, check the exit IP, then visit your target service. A result from another browser does not verify this configuration.
If something goes wrong
For authentication errors, check the protocol, port, and credentials. For timeouts, check the rental status and local network. If the test works but the target fails, check its location, account, and network requirements. See the FAQ.
