Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions that come up when choosing and setting up a static proxy.
View all questions01Do IP123 proxy IPs rotate automatically?
IP123 offers static proxies with an assigned address during the rental period. Do not append country, session, or rotation parameters used by rotating products. For a different exit or location, check available product options.
Read the buying guide02Where do I get my connection details?
Open the proxy list for the product in your dashboard. After deployment completes, select the protocol and copy the host, port, username, and password. See getting started.
Open dashboard03How do I use a proxy in a profile browser?
Choose a custom connection in the intended browser profile, enter protocol, host, port, and credentials, then test, save, and open that profile. A saved connection must also be assigned to the profile you use. See browser integration.
Explore browser guides04How do I troubleshoot authentication errors or timeouts?
Check deployment and rental status, protocol and port, host and credentials, app rules, and local network in that order. HTTP 407 usually relates to authentication; connection refused calls for checking the endpoint and port; a timeout calls for checking reachability. Use the same details with the curl example to separate client and network issues.
Read troubleshooting answers05Can an IPv6 proxy access every website?
Connect with the IPv4-formatted host and port shown in your dashboard; the assigned exit is IPv6. Whether a target works depends on its support for that exit and its access rules.
